Thea's Taverna

We hunted up this restaurant which is not easy to find. It is really at the crossroads of Ewen and Furness with the entrance on Furness and is not easy to locate. It appears to be a converted garage. Concrete floor and industrial ceilings. The bar is in the middle of the room and tables are set up around it on the concrete floor.

There was a private party at the bar, so with nothing to baffle the sound it was very noisy. The waitress was nice but we're sitting there looking at a very traditional Greek menu. Nothing new or exciting, just the standard dishes at fairly high prices. It was going to be $100 for dinner for two and we're sitting in the middle of a garage.

All I have to say is that I will not be eating at this restaurant ever again. The food was not good and the portion size was so small. I also did not like the service, the waitress who happened to be the owner is so rude. She was was to busy on the phone to even take our order. When she finally arrived to take the order she was not very pleasant. The restaurant also was dirty it seemed as if the floor had not been swept or mopped.

My family eat here on a regular basis (once every month). They have great calamari, roast lamb, and lamb chops. Great price, nice quiet location, and food's great!

My daughter and I attended this restaurant on January 25, 2006. My daughter had the appetizer skanokopita and I had the pan fried chicken livers and both were excellent with the best still to come. For the entree, we had the lamb souvlaki and, the roasted lamb shoulder and both were mouth watering. The plates were ample and the service was excellent with good commucation with our hostess.

Keep this one in mind for any given time or occasion.
